Our Session Hosts

  • Rachel Reynolds

    Rachel is a garden coach, landscape designer, houseplant stylist and loves helping others understand their plants. Her business Rachel Dreamscapes focuses on native plants, wildlife gardening, and connecting people with their plants. Attend her presentation to learn the benefits of native plants and how they can enhance our lives and relationships with ourselves and the planet.

  • LeRoy Grubbs

    With over twenty years of experience in the arts, LeRoy still feels very much like a young artist, constantly evolving and discovering new layers of creativity. His work is driven by spontaneity—shaped by the ideas that emerge in the moment, and often guided by a sense of curiosity and play. Attend his workshop to build a custom bonsai pot.

  • Ambasador Panel

    Meet some of the biggest names in the planty world by visiting them at their panel. Questions will be facilitated by web ticket signups, so get yours before attending!

  • Matthew Henry

    Matthew Henry is a full-time Horticulturalist and Mounted Plant Specialist. He has always had a passion for plants, but after working at a nursery it became a career. His workshop will provide a basic knowledge of epiphytic plants and how to mount them. Participants will be able to choose an orchid of their liking and a board.

  • Lyndsey A. Ware

    Lyndsey Ware is a Horticulturist with specializations in both perennial fruit cropping systems and conservation, having applied IPM on multiple scales to both. She has a BS in Plant Science and a BA in Journalism. Currently Ware is a Horticulturist II at Houston Botanic Garden where she stewards the natural areas and focuses on Gulf Coast natives and aquatics.

  • Hannah Ayala

    Hannah is the Head Diagnostician at the Texas Plant Disease Diagnostic Laboratory in College Station, Texas, where she leads a team in identifying and diagnosing plant diseases, including fungal, bacterial, and viral pathogens and plant-parasitic nematodes. By attending her workshop, you will learn how to identify some symptoms and signs of disease and how to test for viral plant pathogens.

  • Fidel Pineda

    Life is stressful, plant parenthood doesn’t have to be. Forget the watering schedules. Learn how how growing in passive hydro can be so rewarding with Fidel Pineda “The Pon Don”.

  • Graylen Brown

    Gray is a certified Ellis County Texas Master Gardener with over 10 years of experience in Dallas (Zone 8B). Originally from Louisiana, he's spent 20+ years home gardening, specializing in strawberries but knowledgeable about all fruits and vegetables. He's also skilled with ornamental plants and runs a successful Instagram channel called "Urban Gardening with Gray."

  • Erin Mills

    Erin Mills has a Bachelor of Science in Entomology and is a board certified entomologist. She is passionate about the crucial role insects play in our world and dedicates her career to encouraging gardeners not only to tolerate insects, but to welcome and celebrate their presence, as an indicator of a thriving ecosystem.

  • Allison & Sterling

    Grown N Love was founded by Allison Retina Stewart and Sterling Creeks Jr., to celebrate their shared passion for plants, wellness, and community. Based in Houston, Texas, they create handcrafted, Southern-inspired home goods like garden signage, wall art, and cozy essentials designed to enrich the lives of plant lovers.

  • Bonnie Person

    Bonnie has been an avid terrarium enthusiast ever since getting her hands on "The Vivarium" magazine as a teenager. She has been building planted tanks for almost 30 years and strives to constantly improve her techniques.

  • Karen Gerlach

    Karen Gerlach’s mission focuses on the interplay of wellness and our everyday environment. She is a clinician, teacher, researcher, biologist, biochemist, author, subject editor, and recognized in her field. In all her spare time, she also serves on the Houston Rose Society Board, Extension Speaker's Bureau, and a member of the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association. She believes healthy involves a holistic mindset of body, environment, and well-being.

  • Roberto Castillo

    Roberto Castillo embodies the true spirit of a renaissance individual, with remarkable talents spanning diverse creative domains. His boundless creativity infuses every endeavor he undertakes, whether he's creating art, guiding students as an educator, or energizing crowds as a DJ. Attend his workshop, and learn to illustrate.

  • Nate A. Wilson

    Nate Wilson has worn a lot of hats: think tank policy wonk, punk drummer, corporate strategist, ethics lecturer, and fifth-gen dirt digger. Now? He sells rabbit crap to houseplant people. Not because it’s trendy—but because it works. And because the whole industry is full of fluff, fakery, and overpriced mud.
