Beginner Bonsai Workshop: Dwarf Umbrella
Our beginner bonsai workshop will include a dwarf umbrella plant, a bonsai pot, and workshops tools to pot and style a new bonsai. Participants will learn a brief history and overview of bonsai, and then have a hands on workshop potting and styling their umbrella plant into a beautiful miniature tree.

Brandy Williams will explore the design elements and plant selections of her vibrant pollinator garden nestled in South Central Los Angeles. This small residential front yard garden exemplifies the "maximalism" garden design trend that celebrates biodiversity, vibrant color palettes, and richly layered textures. In this presentation, Brandy will explore how intentional plant choices can transform even modest urban spaces into thriving ecosystems. She will highlight the essential role of host plants, native perennials, and wildflowers in supporting pollinators and enhancing ecological resilience. In addition, Brandy will share strategies for thoughtfully incorporating non-invasive succulents that complement native plant selections while enhancing texture and visual interest.
